Flo Tempalski was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, a grade IV brain tumor on October 31, 2006 and passed on October 7, 2007. Flo was 50 years of age with two children and three grandchildren. She was a loving part of our life, my sister and a lifelong best friend.

The Annual Flo's Chili Cook‐Off honors Flo by keeping her memory alive with a joyful celebration of her life. All donations and proceeds will benefit the JFK Brain Tumor Center, a comprehensive program for diagnosis, treatment, and management of brain and spinal tumors. To learn more click here.

Flo's experience with the disease was more than courageous – she sustained four major brain surgeries, and two dual spinal infections within six months of her diagnosis. She never let the disease stop her, her commitment and dedication to her family, friends, and community persisted regardless of her illness. Never complaining about her illness or the complications associated with it – Flo always stayed positive. Flo's grace, dignity, courage and love carried family and friends through the most difficult times of her illness. She was so special – Flo touched the life of everyone that knew her.

Through fundraising events, like the Chili Cook‐Off, we want to keep Flo's loving and giving spirit alive by raising funds to support education and patient related services at the JFK Brain Tumor Center. For further details, please visit the event website

To date Flo's Chili Cook‐Off has raised over $20,000 ‐‐ money raised last year helped brain tumor patients pay for MRI's, insurance co‐pays and transportation for chemotherapy treatment.
