Some health problems are true emergencies – a life threatening condition or a severe injury.  Often times you may have a medical emergency that does not require a trip to the emergency room, it’s a weekend, or after hours, or you just can’t get in to see your regular doctor. That is why JFK developed our Urgent Care Center, centrally located to serve our community. The new JFK Urgent Care Center is open seven days a week with a full staff of board-certified physicians, and equipped with diagnostic equipment to conduct variety of lab tests as well as x-ray imaging.

Morgan B. of Edison had just such a need.  She had woken one day with some discomfort, but by the time she realized the pain wasn’t going away, it was too late to consider her regular doctor.  She knew that it didn’t warrant a trip to the Emergency Room, where the priority went to treating serious – often life-or-death -- conditions, but couldn’t wait through the night for relief.

A family member had told Morgan about JFK’s Urgent Care Center, and she soon found herself in a surprising experience.

“I had been to other ‘urgent care’ facilities before, and JFK was a night-and-day difference,” said Morgan.  “My experience with other facilities was they were usually crowded, didn’t seem organized, and gave an overall feeling of being chaotic.  The JFK Urgent Care Center waiting room was clean and nice, and the staff was well-organized and efficient.  I got there about 8:15 in the evening, and I was on my way home – with my condition taken care of – by 9:00.”

“The staff at the JFK Urgent Care was caring and friendly, which makes a huge difference,” said Morgan.  “My situation might not have been an ‘emergency,’ but I was very uncomfortable, and they recognized that.  They got me in to see the doctor quickly, without a lot of time wasted on paperwork and sitting around. Best of all, they figured out how to take care of my problem.”
