The Regional Cancer CenterThe Regional Cancer Center at JFK Medical Center is dedicated to

advancing knowledge and enhancing care by creating a collaborative environment focused on the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer to improve quality of life for patients and survivors.
The Center offers a full complement of comprehensive

diagnostic and treatment services - advanced state-of-the art diagnostic equipment, pathology, surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, stereotactic radiosurgery, investigational clinical trials, and a comprehensive Breast Care Center - to effectively identify and treat myriad forms of cancer. With a balanced approach to patient care, the Cancer Center provides complimentary therapies to support the diverse needs of cancer patients including nursing care, nutritional care, discharge planning, outpatient services counseling and hospice care.
Accredited by the Commission on Cancer (American College of Surgeons) as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center, the cancer program at JFK Medical Center distinguishes itself through our highly-skilled, specialized staff, including oncology-certified nurses and certified radiation therapists as well as membership in the Cancer Institute of New Jersey -- providing the opportunity for our patients to participate in clinical trials. This Accreditation -- with eight commendations awarded -- is the highest designation given to a community cancer center and is a testament to the excellent quality of care we deliver.
With an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to care, our team of healthcare professionals works together to develop a treatment plan that best meets a patient's needs, and gives him/her every advantage against cancer. Our multidisciplinary team of specially-trained professionals includes pathologists, oncologists, neuro-oncologists, surgeons, hematologists, radiologists and radiation oncologists. Together, these physicians meet for on-going conferences and learning opportunities such as the Breast Conference, Tumor Board, and Hematology and Neuro-Oncology Conferences to assess and discuss
the best approach to treatment and care, ensuring the optimum outcome for patients and their families. In turn, the physicians are supported by registered nurses, radiation therapists, pharmacy personnel, registered dieticians, counselors and licensed social works.
