The Keith Wold Johnson Child Care Center, established in 1983, is a year-around learning center designed to provide loving care with education for the young children of JFK Health employees and the community. The Center provides educational and recreational programs for growing children six weeks through kindergarten. The Center is unique among other programs in the vicinity because of its hospital affiliation. Our New Jersey state-certified teachers work along carefully selected, experienced teaching assistants in a warm, relaxed atmosphere. The Center's philosophy of education is based on the importance of the total development of each child.

Educational Programs:

Infants & Toddlers:

Each day, the children explore the environment around them through sensory motor activities that help them build trust and feel secure in their surroundings. The goal of the program is to nurture each individual child and learn to attend to his/her care in a personal and positive atmosphere.

Preschool & Prekindergarten:

"The Land of the Letter People"

Here we incorporate a flexible, fun-filled core literacy program that stimulates children and promotes oral language and early literacy.

Kindergarten (Full Day Program):

"Progress in Mathematics"

The Sadler-Oxford program is a complete basic mathematics program. It combines the best of past educational methods with the most up-to-date approach to meet mathematical needs of all children.

"Beginning to Read, Write & Listen"

The phonics-based comprehensive reading-language arts program contains and correlates reading, handwriting, auditory and oral language skills for beginning readers. It provides children with a thorough understanding of the letters of the alphabet and their sounds, the most basic elements of our spoken and written language.
