At the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute (JRI) residency program in central New Jersey, opportunities to pursue basic and clinical research projects are available and encouraged.
An original research paper is required for graduation. JRI is currently conducting research studies in the areas of child development, neuropsychology, head injuries and basic research. Each resident must identify a research area by the third year and present an original paper at the AAPM&R or AAP national meeting prior to graduation.
Residents also have the opportunity to participate in ongoing research projects and the Rehab Medicine Scientist Training Program funded by NIH and the AAP.
