JFK Nurses Provide Hats with Hearts

Pictured standing behind a few new moms and their little bundles of joy, donning their homemade knit hats, members of the nursing team from JFK Medical Center’s Perinatal Department.

The nursing staff at JFK Medical Center are gifting newborn babies born in the month of February and their moms handmade red hats in honor of Heart Month and an in support of the American Heart Association’s Little Hats, Big Hearts™ program

The Little Hats, Big Hearts initiative from the American Heart Association provides new moms a free kit full of heart-health information along with a hand-made red baby hat, to empower moms to live heart healthy lives and to help their children do the same. The campaign is also raising awareness around congenital heart defects.
